La Morto – XIII – The Connection

L’opera “La Morto” è una Stampa d’Arte, ed è l’interpretazione del numero 13 degli Arcani Maggiori dei Tarocchi. L’immagine raffigura in alto due tipologie di Amanita, una velenosa l’altra edibile, ma entrambe fondamentali per l’ecosistema. Al centro emerge dalla terra nera un germoglio di una quercia, le cui radici si collegano al micelio sottostante. La connessione che si crea è la più potente forma di mutalismo che esite sul pianeta, da cui dipende la vita così come la conosciamo. Gli alberi e quindi i boschi nascono e crescono grazie a questo rapporto di reciprocità con il micelio.

L’umano ha un ruolo marginale, non è il più potente, e come altri animali, funge da nutrimento alla vita, ma da morto.

“La Morto – XIII- The Connection”, intesa come cilco della vita, è la terra nera, l’oscurità più estrema da dove comincia e finisce tutto.

The work “La Morto” is an art print and is an interpretation of card number 13 of the Major Arcana in the Tarot. The image depicts two types of Amanita mushrooms at the top, one poisonous and the other edible, but both essential to the ecosystem. In the center, an oak sprout emerges from the black earth, its roots connecting to the mycelium below. The connection that is created is the most powerful form of mutualism that exists on the planet, on which life as we know it depends. Trees and therefore forests are born and grow thanks to this reciprocal relationship with the mycelium.

Humans play a marginal role, they are not the most powerful, and like other animals, they serve as nourishment for life, but only when they are dead.

“La Morto – XIII- The Connection”, understood as the cycle of life, is the black earth, the most extreme darkness from which everything begins and ends.

La tecnica

La xilografia su linoleum, detta anche linoleografia, è una tecnica di stampa artistica che utilizza il linoleum come matrice al posto del legno. Si inizia preparando la matrice: si disegna il motivo a rovescio sul linoleum e si procede all’incisione con sgorbie di varie misure, scavando le aree che si vogliono lasciare bianche nella stampa finale. Le parti che rimangono in rilievo vengono poi inchiostrate con rullo e quindi pressate su carta, manualmente con un baren, un cucchiaio o un torchio. Il risultato è un’immagine stampata in positivo, caratterizzata da superfici nitide e contrasti decisi.
